The model you select should reflect the general shape of your foot from the metatarsal to the heel.
Length
2. Select your 2 Length
Gaynor Mindens usually fit one to one and a half sizes longer than your U.S. street shoe size. Not every Length is available in every Model. If you require a Length that is not available, try selecting a different Model.

Width
3. Select your 3 Width
Width fits the metatarsals and mid-foot. Not every Width is available in every size combination. If you require a Width that is not available, try changing your previous selections.
Shank
5. Select your 5 Shank
Gaynor Minden shanks do not break in or soften, and all are equally durable and long-lasting. Make sure your new shoe is pliable enough to allow you to achieve a high demi-pointe easily.
Most dancers are best served by our FeatherFlex, Supple, and ExtraFlex shanks. Very few dancers really need our Hard shank.
Vamp

The Deep vamp comes standard on all sizes and models, and is 1/4" (0.6 cm) longer than the Low vamp. If you are ordering a Low vamp, it will take longer to ship.
Dancers who wear a Gaynor Minden size 6 or shorter might prefer a Low vamp.
Heel

The High heel is 3/8" (1 cm) longer than the Low heel.
High heels are standard on our Classic and Sculpted models. You can still order a Low heel, but it will take longer to ship.
Low heels are standard on our Sleek models. You can still order a High heel, but it will take longer to ship.
Finish
8. Select your 8 Finish
Pink shoes with Suede tips are usually available to ship within 1–2 weeks in our most popular sizes. Backordered and made-to-order sizes will ship in early 2026.
Pink shoes with Satin tips are Special Orders, will ship in early 2026, and are NOT RETURNABLE.
Mocha, Cappuccino, and Espresso shoes are made-to-order, which takes 12–14 weeks.
White shoesare Special Orders, also take 12–14 weeks, and are NOT RETURNABLE.
